In not so surprising news, Ford Mustang sales for the year were down 32.2% from 2007 as the shaky auto industry and declining economy forced many people to rethink major purchases. In total 91,251 Mustangs were sold last year. December was also a bad month for Ford Mustang sales compared to November with sales dropping 51.6%.

Wayne Morris Ford in Perry, GA has put their first and so far only allotted 2010 Shelby GT500 on eBay. The price starts at MSRP with no reserve and if you don't care for the Grabber Blue color or would like to change anything else about the car you have that option if you buy it via eBay. The 2010 Shelby GT500 has been officially revealed by Ford and we must say, it looks better than ever. With power increased to 540 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque the new GT500 provides even more punch to support it's more aggressive front end and raised hood. The year 2008 was an up and down year for Ford Mustang enthusiasts. With sales of the Ford Mustang dipping due to lower production numbers, high gas prices and a nasty recession it was good to have things such as the 2010 Mustang reveal to brighten up our mood and give us something to look forward to. With that, here are 5 Mustang news items we expect to see in 2009, in no particular order.

As many of you know the 2003 SVT Cobra wheels are some of the most popular style of Mustang wheels out there. For quite some time many owners have been asking for different sizes and a deep dish option for these wheels. Some companies came through, but only offered the OEM style wheel that is simply larger in width or in an 18 inch version vs the stock 17s. This leaves those who want a deep dish rim but love the style of the 2003 Cobra rims out in the cold.

Steve Saleen isn't even waiting for the first 2010 Mustang to roll off the assembly line before dropping some information on what he plans to do with the new Mustang. He has dubbed his new lineup the Signature Series 460 Mustangs and each and everyone that wears this name will feature a supercharged version of Ford's 4.6L V8 that start at 475 horsepower and go all the way up to over 650 horsepower. Along with the power increase, as with every Saleen, you will also see improvements in the drivetrain, suspension, wheels, the exterior and interior. Anyone that is a fan of Shelby Mustangs is surely going to want to check out this eBay Auction of a 1968 Shelby EXP500 'Black Hornet'. Yea, I think that the EXP500 sounds cooler too. The Black Hornet sports a 428 Cobra Jet that puts out 335 horsepower, 4-speed transmission, 9" rear end with 3.25 gears and 10-spoke Shelby wheels. The auction price is at $160,100.00 at the time of writing this with 76 bids. Like most auctions featuring high profile Shelby Mustangs, the proceeds from this auction will go to the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation.
